SERIAL killer Stephen Port’s ex-drug dealer has been jailed for at least 31 years for the ‘wicked and callous’ murder of a Bond film actor.
Gerald Matovu, 26, plied Eric Michels with a fatal dose of GHB after hooking up with him on gay dating app Grindr.
He then stole the married father-of-three’s bank card details and other belongings from his Surrey home as part of a plot to drug and rob men. Mr Michels, 54, who appeared in 007 movie Skyfall, was found dead in bed last August by his 14-year-old daughter.
He was one of 12 victims targeted by Matovu and his lover, Brandon Dunbar, 24, over a 19-month period, the Old Bailey trial heard. Jailing him for life for 39 offences, Judge Anne Molyneux QC said: ‘You were an experienced poisoner and were aware of the dangers of the drug. You are a highly dangerous predator.’
Matovu had supplied Port with the GHB he used to rape and murder four young men between 2014 and 2015.
Dunbar was jailed for 18 years after being convicted of 23 offences.
