JUVENTUS sporting director Fabio Paratici has travelled to meet Manchester United chiefs to open preliminary talks about re-signing Paul Pogba in a sensational £150million deal.
Paratici was initially said to be in London to meet Chelsea over discussions about compensation for manager Maurizio Sarri, who the Serie A champions want to replace Max Allegri, who has left Juve. But last night Paratici was understood to be preparing to meet United to make initial contact with the club as Juve attempt to lure midfielder Pogba back to Turin.
Such a move would represent a stunning return for the France international, who started his career at Old Trafford before leaving for Juve in 2012. He then returned to United for a fee of £89.3m three years ago.
The 26-year-old’s future has been the subject of speculation after an up-and-down third season back at Old Trafford. The World Cup-winner’s chances of a Serie A switch have increased after his agent Mino Raiola’s his ban from working in Italy was last night lifted by the Federal Court of Appeal.
Juve right-back Joao Cancelo is believed to be part of the package they plan to offer United.
