Jurgen Klopp’s slap (not on the wrist) for fans ignoring coronavirus health advice

Touchy subject: Liverpool boss Klopp tells off fans

JURGEN KLOPP told fans to ‘put your hands away you f***ing idiots’ when they tried to high five him at the start of Liverpool’s Champions League game on Wednesday.

The Liverpool manager, 52, appeared to be irritated that supporters had ignored health advice over the pandemic.

The German won plaudits last week when he refused to be drawn on how football should respond to the outbreak, insisting it was a matter for the experts.

‘It’s not important what famous people say,’ he told a press conference. ‘We have to speak about things in the right manner, not people like me with no knowledge.

‘I wear a baseball cap and I have a bad shave… my opinion is really not important.’
