Jason Derulo’s World Cup goal… is to bag a WAG

JASON DERULO has finally got into football after being recruited to sing the official World Cup anthem. But it isn’t the beautiful game that’s won his attention — it’s the gorgeous wives and girlfriends.

The US singer will serenade fans with track Colors when the tournament kicks off in Russia on Thursday, but let slip where his attention will really lie.

‘As a footballer, you get to date all the, hopefully, beautiful women. It’s one of the perks of the job, but I am sure they work hard,’ the 28-year-old Want To Want Me singer told Guilty Pleasures.

He certainly reckons that’s the case for England’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who dates Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards.

Derulo, who used to date fellow singer Jordin Sparks, continued: ‘I have just started to get into the World Cup fever. I love English football but I don’t have a team yet. Maybe I could support Liverpool. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a great player for Liverpool. He is dating Perrie and I have worked with Little Mix too.’

And the heartthrob reckons the pop circuit is just as distracting as the football VIP circuit.

‘It was hard being surrounded by Taylor Swift, Rita Ora and Anne-Marie at Radio 1’s Biggest Weekend but someone has got to do it,’ he said, tongue-in-cheek.

For now, Derulo is relishing the chance to hit back at Donald Trump with his ditty, as his parents are Haitian.

‘I am going to Russia and it’s a song about unity, togetherness and celebrating where you are from,’ said the star. ‘I am proud of my roots.’

After the US president allegedly dubbed the Caribbean isle a s***hole, Derulo said: ‘Trump said some crazy remarks about my home country and I sent a tweet out to him. My country is a very beautiful place.’
