A CHANCER who tried to smuggle £2,000 worth of drugs in a condom into Creamfields music festival has been jailed.
Shanice Burden, 22, was hiding cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy and ketamine internally when sniffer dogs spotted her at the entrance to the Cheshire event last August.
Burden, of Coventry, pleaded guilty to possessing drugs with intent to supply, but told Warwick crown court a gang of travellers had forced her at knifepoint to be a mule.
However, Judge Anthony Potter said the high value of the drugs did not fit with an approach from strangers and she had dealt cannabis four days earlier.
Jailing Burden for 27 months, the judge told her she was not ‘under compulsion’ but ‘took a chance’. He added: ‘She was not an innocent dupe but a foolish and arrogant young woman.’
