THE US president’s daughter has defended using a private email account for government business, saying ‘there’s no equivalency’ to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 email scandal.

Ivanka Trump, who works as a White House adviser, told ABC News: ‘There is no restriction on using personal email’, adding: ‘All of my emails are stored and preserved.’

Donald Trump lambasted rival Mrs Clinton at campaign rallies for using a private email server while she was secretary of state, and encouraged the chant: ‘Lock her up!’

When Ms Trump was asked by ABC whether she should be locked up, she said: ‘No.’
