George Clooney and his wife Amal took her mum Baria to a premiere marking the Oscar-winner’s return to the small screen.
Clooney, 58, stars and partly directs a TV version of Joseph Heller’s satirical novel Catch-22, soon to be screened on Channel 4.
The six-part series is about a US pilot grappling with ridiculous rules in World War II, and marks Clooney’s first TV role since ER ended ten years ago.
Speaking on the red carpet in Westfield, west London, last night, he explained: ‘I feel like we are facing a pretty absurd time in our lives — all of us.
