Hunt for woman after knife attack on train platform

Appeal: Woman police want to trace

POLICE investigating a knife attack on a man at a station have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to question.

Detectives say the attacker waited on the platform and lunged at the man as he stepped out of the train carriage.

‘As the victim alighted the train, a woman ran down the platform and hit him. She is then reported to have pulled out a large knife, concealed within her clothing,’ said a spokesman for the British Transport Police.

‘The pair wrestled for control of the knife, which fell to the floor before the victim picked it up and ran out of the station.’

The incident took place at Langdon Park DLR station, east London, at 9.30pm on Sunday, September 20. Anyone with information should call the BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016.
