THE Duchess of Cambridge danced with a little girl and ruffled her hair at the launch of a family-friendly garden she helped to create.

She also revealed her son Prince Louis, 16 months, loves to clutch at flowers for a sniff.

Queen of spades: With GBBO’s Mary

The duchess, wearing a floral print Emilia Wickstead dress, met 15-month-old Matilda in the Back To Nature play garden at the Royal Horticultural Society in Wisley, Surrey, along with Bake Off’s Mary Berry, 84.

So crown to earth: Fun with Matilda

Kate told guests: ‘I was passionate about creating a garden that inspired children and adults.’

Matilda’s mum Sarah Griffiths, 25, from Southend, described the encounter as ‘exciting’, adding: ‘She talked about her son going up and smelling flowers.’
