ENGLAND cricketer Ben Stokes was bowled over when fire crews saved his pet rabbit after it got stuck behind a boiler at his home.
The 27-year-old shared a photo of the bunny safely back in its cage with his 395,000 Twitter followers.
The brigade were called out to the Durham player’s home on Sunday and freed the rabbit by removing an air brick.
Stokes revealed that his son Layton and daughter Libby were very excited to see firefighters at their home.
He tweeted: ‘Huge thanks to the lads for rescuing our rabbit after getting trapped behind a wall, our kids were more happy having a fire truck on the drive than when they got him out.’
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they helped out. All-rounder Stokes, who was cleared of affray last year, often shares photos of his wife Claire and family on Instagram.
