Gok Wan goes bananas at Virgin Trains

GOK WAN has lashed out at Virgin Trains, claiming he was told off for ‘cleaning up’ his table in first class.

The TV makeover guru said he put rubbish including a banana skin into used cups to minimise his mess on the 9.16am from Leeds to London yesterday.

He said a staff member rebuked him before the train manager also came over to complain. The stylist tweeted: ‘I said this is not a big problem and I just want a tidy table and he just said to me “remember, this is first class” I AM APPAULED (sic)! He was obnoxious, sarcastic and embarrassing.’

The 43-year-old added: ‘I know it’s first class, I bought my ticket!’

When Virgin asked the presenter to send a private direct message, he continued tweeting publicly, writing: ‘I am now stuck on this train for another 30 mins feeling angry and embarrassed.’

The firm said staff met Wan when he got off and said sorry. It said his ‘feedback’ was listened to.
