A new exhibition displays dazzling works of transgender creativity

GENDER identity is the theme of the Hayward Gallery’s new exhibition, Kiss My Genders, which gives a platform to more than 30 international artists whose work explores gender identity. Incorporating gender fluidity, as well as non-binary, trans and intersex identities, the exhibition intends to be ‘a wonderful celebration of the rich spectra of genders’, says guest curator Vincent Honoré.

Highlights include works by Latinx model Martine Gutierrez, artist/DJ Juliana Huxtable, founder of NYC nightlife project Shock Value, photographer Peter Hujar and the earliest artist to be exhibited, Pierre Molinier, who created surrealist photomontages for his own pleasure as far back as the 1960s. Truly ground-breaking.
