Girl’s miracle escape in crash warning to parents

POLICE have released a shocking video of an eleven-year-old girl being mowed down by a car and thrown across the road like a ‘rag doll’.

The footage shows the child running out in front of the vehicle before she is hit by the car.

She then lands several metres down the road from the point of impact.

Incredibly, the video shows the girl get back to her feet and she then dashes back out across the road.

Devon and Cornwall Police said she miraculously only sustained minor injuries and have released the footage on social media as a warning to parents.

The driver was reportedly shaken but was found not to be at fault after the crash on July 7.

Officers have not revealed the exact location where the incident happened but a spokesperson said: ‘Warning! We’re releasing this shocking footage of a recent RTC involving a child to remind you why road safety education is vital.

‘Each year around 120 child pedestrians are involved in collisions on our roads.Please always remember to stop, look and listen.’

The video states: ‘The following clip shows a road traffic collision between an 11-year-old pedestrian and a car.

‘In Devon and Cornwall each year around 120 child pedestrians are involved in collisions.

‘Here’s an important message about why road safety education is vital.

‘Fortunately, she only sustained minor injuries and was quickly back to her usual active self.
