Fulham reach final despite a massive scare

Crucial response: Kebano celebrates

Fulham 1-2 Cardiff

(Fulham win 3-2 on aggregate)

FULHAM will play Brentford in an all-west London Championship play-off final despite being given an almighty scare by Cardiff.

The visitors, who lost their home leg 2-0, proved they were not giving up easily when Curtis Nelson headed them ahead after eight minutes, but Fulham were level within a minute when Neeskens Kebano turned home Bobby Decordova-Reid’s cross.

Cardiff were back in front just after the restart when Lee Tomlin turned the ball home, but needed a brilliant save from Alex Smithies to turn Aboubakar Kamara’s shot onto the post to keep their hopes alive.

Will Vaulks almost forced extra-time after a goalmouth scramble but Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak tipped his shot over the bar.
