THE twin brother of pop star Will Young paid tribute to their bond in his final Instagram post before his death.

Rupert, who died on Monday, shared a childhood snap of the pair sitting on a hay bale just four weeks ago.

One friend commented: ‘Amazing what you find in lockdown isn’t it?’

The 41-year-old, who was born ten minutes after Will, died after years of battling depression and alcoholism.

He also said his sibling’s 2002 Pop Idol win impacted their relationship.

The cause of his death has not been confirmed. A friend of the family said: ‘There were hopes Rupert had turned a corner. They are a very loving family and utterly devastated by his passing.’

In 2008, Rupert — who had a history of self-harm — said: It seems bizarre, to me, that two people who are genetically the same behave in different ways.’

He estimated his family paid £120,000 over the years on his treatment.

In 2005, he spent 40 days in rehab in the US, where he was diagnosed with dysthymia, a depressive mood disorder.
