FEMINISTS invaded a men-only session at a pool to protest over proposals that would make it easier for people to change gender.

Amy Desir, 30, from Luton, used the men’s changing rooms and wore trunks and a pink swimming cap to join the session at Dulwich leisure centre, south London, last Friday.

After one elderly man asked if she realised it was a men-only night, Ms Desir told him she was a man. ‘He said, “Oh really?” It was a very British response,’ she said.

Her friend Hannah, 39 — who fears reprisals from trans activists — told staff they could join the session because they ‘identified as male’.

Ms Desir, who is calling for women to be consulted about the proposed changes to the Gender Recognition Act, said they were highlighting ‘the ridiculous and dangerous move towards self-identification’.
