A FRAUD victim says she caught her ex heading off on holiday with another woman — after paying for the trip with money he stole from her.
Angel Exford (below), 29, said she gave Michael Fehsenfeld her bank card to pay a bill on a night out when he claimed he had lost his wallet.
She said they split up after she saw on Snapchat that he had been out on the town again the next night, despite his apparent lack of funds.
Unknown to her, he had stolen her card details and a month later, she noticed £1,000 from her account had been spent on items including flowers, flight tickets and a hotel booking.
She said the payment to EasyJet included flight details — allowing her to catch Fehsenfeld red-handed at Gatwick on October 5.
‘Thanks to my friends who helped assemble the evidence from Twitter, where he’d written he was going to Paris, I was able to go to the police,’ she said. ‘I cancelled all my cards and as my card had been used for the flights I was able to access his boarding passes, one for him and one for his girl. We then decided to confront Michael with police at Gatwick and he was arrested.’
Fehsenfeld, 26, admitted fraud at Camberwell Green magistrates’ court in London on October 22. He received a suspended 26-week sentence and 150 hours of community service. Dental hygienist Ms Exford, of Lambeth, south London, said she won compensation. She used hashtag ‘fraudbae’ — based on the ‘bae’ slang for boy or girlfriend — to shame the fraudster online.
