Dusty’s £14m Pad

A STRING of hits — including I Only Want To Be With You — led to Dusty Springfield becoming one of Britain’s most popular singers in the swinging 1960s. Now her former home near Notting Hill Gate, where she lived from 1968 to 1972, is for sale. The seven-bed house, with a top-floor master bedroom suite with a south-facing roof terrace, party room and indoor pool is priced at £14million, through savills.com via topten realestate deals.com.

Prices a real worry

Concerns about house prices are at their highest level for five years, says the latest Homeowners Survey from HomeOwners Alliance and BLP Insurance. Eighty three per cent of the 2,000 adults polled by YouGov believe that prices are a serious problem, rising to 90 per cent in London.

Help to Buy, five years on

NEWLY released government figures have revealed the number of aspiring homeowners using the Help to Buy equity loan scheme to get on the property ladder. First-time buyers account for 81 per cent of the 158,883 homes purchased since its launch in April 2013. Since the doubling of the loan in London to 40 per cent, the capital has seen 6,867 completions.
