THE Duchess of Cambridge has revealed that cooking with her two children can get messy — and soon she’ll add a third to the mix.
On her last official engagement before taking maternity leave, Kate donned a pinny as she helped put the finishing touches to the Commonwealth Big Lunch. She and Prince William met locals and volunteers at St Luke’s Community Centre in north London, and revealed their recipe for buttered chicken.
St Luke’s chef Matt Jones, 45, said: ‘As we got them to decorate our dishes Kate said she cooked with her kids but that it sometimes got a bit messy.’
The duchess, who wore a cream coat by Goat and a patterned top by Hobbs, is due to have her third child next month. Her eldest child Prince George is four and Princess Charlotte is two. The Big Lunch encourages people to sit down to a meal with members of their community once a year.
Last year more than nine million people took part across the 53 Commonwealth countries.
Earlier, William was consoled by Kate after he needed three attempts to net a basketball from a wheelchair at a SportsAid event at the Copper Box in the Olympic Park in east London.
The couple met Paralympians, hopefuls for next month’s Commonwealth Games in Australia and Lizzy Yarnold, who took gold in the skeleton at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
