Down the line: Lampard plans to shine a light on leaving card

FRANK LAMPARD intends to check the rulebook after being sent off in his seventh game as a manager — Derby’s defeat at Rotherham.

Referee Peter Bankes red carded the former England midfielder for leaving his technical area to argue with an assistant referee, claiming the Rams were denied a penalty.

Lampard said: ‘If it is once I stepped out of the technical area, their manager should have been sent off, and their assistant, my assistant. We all did [it] during the game.’

Terry red-faced after bout of friendly ire

BLACKPOOL boss Terry McPhillips will decide today whether to appeal after team-mates Donervon Daniels and Marc Bola were shown red cards for scuffling with each other.

The nine-man Seasiders held on to win 1-0 at Plymouth but McPhillips said: ‘It was mayhem, carnage. There were some strange decisions and even at the end with the two lads, I thought it was harsh.’

The Glovers are off as Newport get hit for six

DARREN WAY hailed an ‘unbelievable performance’ as Yeovil won 6-0 at Newport, their biggest ever victory in the Football League.

Jordan Green got two of the goals as the Glovers moved up to fifth.

‘I thought that tactically, physically and technically our players ran all over them,’ said Way. ‘The hardest problem is producing that Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.’
