‘Don’t panic’ says Beijing on virus-risk streets list

Disease crackdown: Suspected virus sufferer forcibly taken into quarantine

BEIJING has begun publishing the names of streets where newly infected Covid-19 patients have been ‘active’, as action to stop the virus is ramped up.

The Beijing Municipal Committee site reads: ‘Patients who visited the following locations have all been placed under treatment in designated hospitals. There’s no need to overreact or panic.’

The move came as people suspected of having coronavirus were being forcibly taken into quarantine.

China has also launched a mobile app that tracks users and tells them if they have been near a sufferer.
