MORE than half of dog owners would rather go on holiday with their pet than their partner, a study claims.
As many as 54 per cent would prefer to take their four-legged friends than their other half, with 51 per cent insisting they would not go at all without their dog.
Thirty two per cent say their dog is as much a part of the family as their children, while 14 per cent only take holidays in the UK where they know their pet is welcome.
East Midlands Trains, which carried out the study, has introduced dog bowls at main stations and doggie treats. Managing director Jake Kelly said: ‘We welcome well-behaved pets.’
