A PET’S dogged efforts have helped her owner pick up thousands of pieces of rubbish from a beach.
When Fliss Cater, 35, moved near the North Yorkshire coast, she found it ‘impossible to avoid the litter’.
The shop owner trained two-year-old Labrador Molly (pictured above) to find bottles, ropes, toys and buckets — and avoid picking up harmful items.
Now the pair collect hundreds of items from Scarborough beach every day.
‘I think it’s our responsibility to keep it clean,’ said Fliss (pictured above).
But she admitted that Molly does sometimes get over-enthusiastic and steals bottles from beachgoers. ‘Her intentions are good,’ said Fliss. PICS: ALEX COUSINS/FLISS CARTER/SWNS
