THE Duke of Cambridge had a very pressing duty to perform yesterday when he met Finland’s top VIP — hand him Prince George’s Christmas list.
And the young prince’s letter appeared to ask Santa Claus to leave just one gift… a toy police car.
William pulled the handwritten note from his suit jacket pocket when he met Father Christmas at Helsinki’s Esplanade Park festive market.
The prince said: ‘I’ve seen you and I had to give you this letter.’
William laughed as he added: ‘He hasn’t written down many requests, so I think one request is probably OK.’
Pleading his son’s case, the proud dad, 35, told Father Christmas: ‘He’s been a nice boy, a nice boy.’
Santa scrutinised the form, which had been filled in by the future king and began with the printed words: ‘Dear Father Christmas, this year I have been naughty/nice.’
The four-year-old, who started school in September, had circled the word ‘nice’ on the list. Underneath the sentence: ‘For Christmas this year, I would like…’ he had penned the words ‘police car’. He signed off: ‘Love George’.
On the final day of his two-day trip to Finland William visited a technology festival, where he met ex-US vice president Al Gore.
