Dad jailed for beating six-month-old daughter to death on Christmas Day

A FATHER who beat his six-month-old daughter to death on Christmas Day after a drink and drug binge has been jailed for life.

Lee Parker (pictured) must serve at least 15 years after repeatedly striking baby Aya’s head against a bathroom door and wall in a fit of temper after drinking heavily and taking drugs.

The 33-year-old was told he had carried out a ‘sustained and murderous attack’ by Mr Justice Phillips. Bristol crown court heard Aya’s mother Zofia Kucharczyk had left Parker — who she regarded as a caring and loving father — looking after their daughter while she went out for the night on Christmas Eve.

Teething: Six-month-old Aya

Mr Justice Phillips said ‘a tragic and dark change’ occurred in his behaviour and a bout of violence broke Aya’s jaw. Four hours later he smashed her head against the bathroom wall.

Aya, who was teething at the time, suffered several skull fractures. ‘She could not have survived for long,’ the judge added.

Parker, of Kingswood, admitted murder.
