Cyclist runs red light then headbutts the pedestrian he nearly hit

Street attack: The victim has a close shave with cyclist (1) and then the suspect headbutts the man (2) and pushes him to the ground (3) before riding off (4)

THE hunt is on for a cyclist who headbutted a pedestrian to the floor after nearly knocking him down while riding through a red light.

CCTV captured the shocking incident that left the 57-year-old victim needing stitches for a wound above his eye.

The footage shows the suited man dodging the oncoming bicycle as he walks on a pedestrian crossing in Farringdon, central London.

The cyclist slams on the brakes and confronts the man, who appears to be pointing towards the traffic lights.

In a flash, the victim is butted in the face and pushed head-first to the pavement.

As passers-by go to help as he tries to get to his feet, the cyclist calmly gets back on his bike and heads off up the street.

City of London Police released the clip of the August 22 attack yesterday in the hope of finding the suspect whose ‘needlessly violent actions left some nasty injuries’. He is a white man in his 40s, around 5ft 10in, of medium build, with short greying hair.
