A woman who claims cricketer Alex Hepburn raped her after finding her asleep in his flatmate’s bed broke down in tears when she was asked in court about the size of his penis.

The alleged victim, a student at the time, had earlier had consensual sex with ex-England Lions player Joe Clarke, 22, who passed out in the loo.

When she woke up hours later, she claims Hepburn, 23, was having sex with her but she initially thought he was Clarke (pictured below). Jurors heard the cricketers, who both played for Worcestershire, had started a sexual conquest ‘game’ days earlier via WhatsApp.

Cross-examining the woman, who is in her 20s, Michelle Heeley QC, defending, said: ‘Clarke has a large penis — did you not notice any difference in the penises?’

The woman said she did not ‘instigate’ sex with Hepburn. ‘When I realised it was him, I was confused, I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t the person who I fell asleep next to,’ she said. Ms Heeley suggested her ‘eyes were open’ as she had sex with Hepburn and nothing she said or did ‘would’ve told Alex you weren’t enjoying it’.

The woman admitted her memories were ‘hazy’ but recalled ‘pushing him off’. She fled the flat and was found by a passer-by who called the police.

Hepburn denies raping the woman, who went home with Clarke in April 2017 after a night at Sin nightclub in Worcester.

Greggs worker Kelly Moral told Worcester crown court she found the woman crying. ‘She was physically sick in the street,’ she said. ‘She was visibly shaking.’ The trial continues.
