IF YOU’RE enjoying Friends (again) during this period of lockdown, you’re not alone — one of its stars, Courteney Cox, has revealed she’s doing it too.
Perhaps she needs the refresher because she also admitted she barely remembers being on the popular 1990s Central Park sitcom.
Courteney, 55, who played clean-freak Monica Geller, told chatshow host Jimmy Kimmel she was watching her own work while self-isolating at home in California.
Appearing via video link from her home, Courteney revealed she had bought all 10 seasons of Friends on Amazon Prime after it was taken off Netflix in anticipation of the HBO Max launch.
She is now busy making her way through the 236 episodes — and, fortunately, she hasn’t found it too cringe-worthy.
‘I decided during this time, people love the show so much, I decided to binge watch Friends. I just started season one — it’s really good!’ she said.
But Courteney shocked Kimmel when she admitted her memories of being on Friends were hazy.
‘I don’t remember even being on the show, I have such a bad memory. I remember, obviously, loving everybody there and having fun and I remember certain times of my life I was there, but I don’t remember episodes,’ she said.
And she wasn’t exaggerating, as a head-to-head quiz with Kimmel’s cousin, a huge fan of the show, proved.
Cox was beaten 5-0 — despite all the questions being about Monica, from the identity of her first kiss to which one of her co-stars peed on her leg in the infamous jellyfish episode.
Courteney also confirmed that filming for the long-awaited Friends reunion special, which was meant to air in May, has been postponed due to the virus.
She and former co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were supposed to start shooting on Monday, but it has been pushed back.
