A COUNCILLOR who has lived in the UK for 19 years, is married to a British man and has two British children, has been denied settled status.
The Home Office said Maggie Filipova-Rivers did not produce documents showing why she should stay after Brexit.
She says she has obtained pre-settled status, which gives her fewer rights.
The Lib Dem councillor for South Oxfordshire, originally from Bulgaria, is ‘angry’ and worried for other EU nationals ‘who are economically inactive or who have studied for a long time’. Chancellor Sajid Javid has said there ‘shouldn’t be a single person that should be concerned about their status’.
