Collina lays down the law on goalkeeper movements

FIFA referees chief Pierluigi Collina (above) says the Premier League must enforce new rules — as seen at the Women’s World Cup — which mean VAR must be used to check goalkeepers’ movements when facing penalties. On suggestions England’s top-flight would leave that decision to on-field officials, Collina said: ‘What is written in the laws of the game has to be enforced in the countries belonging to Fifa and the competitions arranged by the member associations. The laws of the game are for everybody.’

Ascot ‘brawl’ player suspended

WATFORD have suspended a striker from their academy after he was allegedly involved in a fight at Royal Ascot. Reece Miller, 18, is believed to be one of the people taking part in a mass brawl on Friday, of which video footage has appeared online.
