Dan the man is All in as he targets the Triumph

DAN SKELTON has every hope of landing a first Triumph Hurdle winner after keeping Allmankind fresh for today after a brilliant first half to the season. The trainer did think of running him on Festival Trials Day in January, but is happy he scrapped that plan. The front-runner made a convincing case when winning the Grade One Finale Hurdle at Chepstow at Christmas, to take his unbeaten record over jumps to three, and he can get the better of Solo and Goshen.

High Thyme Hobbs got his recompense

PHILIP HOBBS saw hot favourite Defi Du Seuil run a shocker in the Champion Chase on Wednesday but he can gain some compensation with Thyme Hill in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle. The exciting six-year-old was third in the Champion Bumper at last year’s Festival and has won all his three starts over the smaller obstacles this term. He was doing his best work at the finish when taking the Grade One Challow Novices’ Hurdle at Newbury in December.

Hazel facing uphill task against Rocco

HAZEL HILL defends his crown in the Foxhunter Challenge Cup Open Hunters’ Chase. Chief among rivals for Philip Rowley’s prolific hunter chaser and point-to-pointer is Jonjo O’Neill’s former Gold Cup runner-up Minella Rocco, who beat Hazel Hill when they met at Wetherby last month.
