CHELSEA and England footballer Callum Hudson-Odoi has been arrested on suspicion of rape after paramedics took a woman to hospital from his south London home.
The 19-year-old Premier League star allegedly invited the woman to breach the lockdown after contacting her on social media on Saturday night.
It is claimed he sent a car to bring her to his penthouse flat in Battersea.
A neighbour told The Sun they saw a woman who ‘looked very glamorous, like the sort of girl you’d see on Love Island’. They added: ‘She had very posh Louis Vuitton luggage with her.’
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said police and paramedics were called at 3.53am on Sunday to ‘a report of an unwell woman’.
‘When emergency services attended, a woman reported that she was raped,’ the spokesman said. ‘She was taken to hospital. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape. He was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June.’
Hudson-Odoi, who recovered from coronavirus in March, is due to join team mates for training on Thursday ahead of a planned return of fixtures behind closed doors on June 12.
Chelsea FC declined to comment. When asked by MailOnline about the allegation, someone claiming to be a representative of Hudson-Odoi, and to be speaking on his behalf, said: ‘He says he’s innocent. He’s innocent, he hasn’t done anything wrong. We’ve got no other comment to make.’
