Cabbie wouldn’t believe my Sally was a guide dog

Refused: Ms Chandler with guide dog Sally PICTURE: SWNS

A TAXI driver is being investigated for not allowing a partially sighted woman in his vehicle — because she had a guide dog.

Rosie Chandler, 68, tried to get into a taxi at a pick-up point near Cathedral Square, Worcester, with her guide dog Sally and son Daniel Thompson last week.

But the driver said he would not take the dog because he did not believe it was an assistance dog, despite it having a harness and Guide Dog UK branded vest.

Ms Chandler, of Great Witley, Worcestershire, said: ‘Having a sight issue is difficult enough without this added stress.’ She has complained to the council who are investigating ‘with a view to taking formal action’.
