MORE than £4.6billion has been spent on stockpiling in case of a hard Brexit, a survey reveals.
Around 17 per cent of us have hoarded food, drink and medicines. And 2.4million people have spent more than £500.
Of those stockpiling, 80 per cent said they have done so with food, 63 per cent with medicine and 43 per cent with drinks. One Tesco customer is reported to have ordered 240 litres of water.
Stockpiling is also hitting cashflow, according to the survey by Premium Credit. And 64 per cent of those asked claimed to have lost out on pay rises due to Brexit uncertainty.
Adam Morghem, of Premium Credit, said the research shows ‘there are a lot of concerns regarding a bad Brexit’.
