Brentford facing decision over Wat way to go next term

BRENTFORD could lose star players including top scorer Ollie Watkins after missing out on a place in the Premier League, with the striker having an £18million buyout clause.

The Bees lost 2-1 to Fulham in Tuesday’s Championship play-off final having also squandered two opportunities to gain promotion automatically.

Crystal Palace are reportedly one of a number of clubs with an interest in 26-goal Watkins (pictured), who can move for £18m now the club have failed to go up. Fellow forward Said Benrahma could also look to leave west London, with Leeds believed to be interested.

And beaten Bees head coach Thomas Frank admitted he does not know what his team will look like when they move into their new stadium next term.

Asked if they can keep their best players, Frank said: ‘I must say it is not my biggest concern right now.

‘Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow, I just know one thing and we will have a very, very strong side going into the Championship for next season.’
