COASTGUARDS have recovered a body after a car plunged 500ft from Beachy Head.
Emergency services were called following reports the vehicle was driven over the cliffs yesterday.
Sussex Police, the coastguard, RNLI lifeboat crews and the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the landmark, near Eastbourne, at about 11.15am.
‘Officers were called to a report a car had been seen to drive off cliffs at Beachy Head,’ said a spokesman for Sussex Police. ‘A car has been found and a recovery operation is under way.’
No further details were released.
