Blocked Friday! Amazon ‘Apple Watch’ delivery is a loo plunger

Loodunnit? John Browne was sent this plunger instead of an Apple Watch PICTURES: SWNS

AN ONLINE shopper who ordered an Apple Watch from Amazon was sent a toilet plunger instead.

Sales director John Browne was delighted when he managed to buy an Apple Watch Series 4 for £299 — £100 off its normal retail price — on the first day of Amazon’s Black Friday sale.

But when he opened his parcel in front of staff at his central London office he found a £4.39 black and white toilet plunger instead.

Mr Browne (pictured), 31, said: ‘It was a pre-Christmas treat for myself and I have wanted one for a long time. I waited for Black Friday specifically and got it delivered to me at work. I went down to collect it at reception and opened it in front of staff and they started howling with laughter. They were all in absolute hysterics. But I was fuming.’

After ‘several’ hours dealing with customer services, Mr Browne said he was only refunded £289 instead of the full £299. He complained again and was given a £10 Amazon voucher.

Mr Browne tried to re-order the watch, with space grey strap, but it had sold out.
