Ashley Banjo steps in to take Simon Cowell’s seat on Britain’s Got Talent

DIVERSITY star Ashley Banjo will take Simon Cowell’s place on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel while the music mogul recovers from back surgery.

Banjo, 31, whose dance troupe beat Susan Boyle in the 2009 BGT final, called the news ‘super-humbling and super-exciting’.

He will join Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams for the first semi-final, which is being filmed next week.

Cowell, 60, who broke his back earlier this month after falling off an electric bike, said: ‘Ashley will be a fantastic addition to the panel. He knows the power of the show and the responsibility of it.’
