The image, Station Squabble, was taken by Bristol-based Sam Rowley and has won him the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Lumix People’s Choice award.

Touching moment: Ranger with the baby black rhino he protects Martin Buzora

Sam spent a week waiting for a perfect shot and had just a split-second to capture the rodents fighting over a few leftover crumbs. His image was selected from a shortlist of 25 pictures and is on display in the Natural History Museum.

Four other photographs were highly commended. There was a heart-rending snap of an exploited ‘boxing’ orangutan, one of a jaguar and her cub with a captive anaconda, a ranger and the baby rhino he protects and a group of arctic reindeer almost vanishing in the snow.
