Alfie parents may take fight further

THE parents of a 21-month-old boy have said they may appeal to the Supreme Court after losing the latest stage of a life support treatment battle.

Kate James and Tom Evans (pictured) saw the Court of Appeal yesterday uphold a High Court decision that doctors can stop treating son Alfie, said to be in a ‘semi-vegetative state’.

The couple in their 20s, from Bootle, Merseyside, want to move him from Liverpool to a Rome hospital for treatment.

Alfie has a degenerative neurological condition.
