Brisbane Lions have denied their chance of Hometown Gloryat the climax of the women’s Aussie Rules season was by fans of the Hellohitmaker.
Brisbane chief Greg Swann said the club had been ‘absolutely let down’ after the grand final against Adelaide at The Gabba had to be switched to the Gold Coast this Saturday.
The surface at The Gabba, which will stages the opening Ashes Test in November and could see fielders Rolling in the Deep, was left unfit to stage the match after two Adele concerts this month.
Swann said: ‘Why this has been allowed to happen is beyond us.’
Cricket Australia boss James Sutherland said: ‘This is a very unfortunate situation to be dealing with.’
